Walk and Talk Therapy
Walking has been shown to be a wonderful form of exercise for most people.
Walking while doing therapy is an easy and comfortable way to support your mental and physical health at the same time!
How does it work?
We can meet at one of several trails in the greater Albuquerque area, depending on where you are. THIS is one of my favorites. Please contact me if you’d like to explore this option. You will pay the same price for therapy. This is a chance to double up on your self-care.

FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I don’t take insurance. Being held to assigning a diagnosis, having a limited time frame attached to that diagnosis, and chasing down insurance payments attaches a business structure to human emotion and needs. Instead, I have reasonable fees, and I work to get you the help you need and help you to work more independently as soon as you’re ready.
Who does this work for?
Many clients enjoy meeting this way — we see each other’s faces instead of masks (unless you would prefer walking with masks on), we can move our bodies and still talk about all of the important things, and we still get just as much done.
Walk and talk therapy is great for anyone looking to get some more exercise or to connect with nature, as well as anyone who finds motion helpful to process and talk (like busy children and teens, or those with certain developmental challenges). If you’re curious, let me know, and we can chat! We can always try it out and decide to return to traditional therapy, too.
Where would we walk?
In the beautiful North Valley of Albuquerque, there are plenty of Bosque (forest) trails that offer shade and flat, easy walks. I love the ease and beauty of the Contemplation Trail, which is an easy 2-mile hike, and has a nice tree swing by the river. I’m open to trying other trails if you have favorites!
How does it work?
We can discuss a basic structure that will include agreements on things like:
How we handle seeing someone you or I know
What to bring
How far to go
How often we might stop
What might be a comfortable pace
We will arrange it, and then meet about 10 minutes before our walk in a place we both agree on. You are always in control of the pace, the stops, and the conversation.
Walk and Talk Therapy takes about an hour, just the same as telehealth or meeting in person.
